Nobel Laureate, theoretical physicist and zero bullshit genius Frank Wilczek has just released an excellent and irreverent new book entitled Lightness of Being: Mass, Ether and the Unification of Forces. For those who haven't had the good fortune to run into Professor Wilczek's work, Lightness is a superb introduction to his playful and sometimes maverick style, as well as a great primer on a non-orthodox take on GUT. Resurrecting the now-archaic concept of ether as Grid Theory, Wilczek dismantles many entrenched notions about unification and quantum gravity while maintaining a balanced sense of the apparent contradictions that underpin the character of physical law. Highly recommended.
