Yoga for weight loss is a very gentle way to stretch and tone the body and makes it suppler again, yoga might not be the best option exercise if you want to lose weight quickly and mainly through exercising. but yoga can help you on your way to a slimmer and more toned body.

ok well honestly forget my last post

this is the weight GAIN section and ill say one thing. yoga, while using imagery to enhance weight gain, will assist weight gain

the mind is integral to every person's goals. so focusing on weight gain and "Feeling" the weight gain should be part of any bulking diet/routine

    damn any arguments

I doubt yoga does anything unless you use the berkhan type with extra sweating combined with fasting. Either for gains or for losses. But if you can sweat it out obviously this will help you cut up and remove toxious chemical build ups. This is pretty obvious. Toning is for girls though bro.

The key to yoga are the spices. If you know what I mean.

Why do you hink those yoga studios smell like that. More spices, more hungry, more hungry more food, more food, more bigger

Yoga does burn calories but not as much as with other exercises. So you will lose weight over time as long as your diet is balanced and nutritious.

In order for you to lose weight effectively utilizing only Yoga as exercise, you'd have to do it at a rate akin to fast forwarding a video X 5. I'm not prepared for that. I'd suspect some flatulence may become pronounced during such as session. Now, in order to gain weight using Yoga, you could always down a few whoppers whilst doing downward dog movements.

How long would it take for a person with 35% bodyfat to get down to 12% body fat if they went to Yoga classes once per day but was allowed one cheat meal 3X/week?

According to me yoga makes you lose weight. Moreover, you also build overall fitness through strength training and develop muscle tone, flexibility, balance and as well as agility.

Yoga exercise is very useful for body and mind. Yoga gives our mind freshness and helps to maintain weight. Yoga provides flexibility to our body so everyone should start doing yoga.

I practice yoga, and like @DrToddLee said, it is not intended for weight loss nor very beneficial for this purpose.

Yoga does not expend many calories, so this makes sense that it will not aid much in weight loss. Most of the movements and poses are isometric. I practice hot yoga however, which will burn slightly more calories but still not very many. Hot yoga is beneficial in a cardiovascular sense however. It also takes more concentration and focus to relax, in a hot room, so it even better for controlling your inner mind. The warmth lends itself to better stretching as well I find.
