Oh yeah, I just noticed, my post appears blank. That's weird it has come out as dark text or a dark background. I just copied and pasted in the text.

I think that what happen was that the text I pasted in happened to have the same dark grey color as the background, and so the text could not be seen. I have corrected it now.

I am using the regular interface, not the mobile/light interface.

I think this problem might be resolved using Physicus' fix above. Turn on the basic editr and see if that doesn't fix things. (top menu, forum actions, general settings)

As an aside...Chemgoddess-the way to disable the chatbox completely is in the same place. FOrum Actions-->General Settings-->Disable Chatbox

You can also just click the second button from the left at the top of the edit window, and this removes all text formatting, and so the posted text will then default back to white.

I just noticed today that I can thank posts on one forum I'm on using Tapatalk, but I cannot do so on this one. So it doesn't seem to be an issue with Tapatalk - it looks like it supports "thank" functionality.

Here are a few things that I think would improve the site:

1. Rename "Blogs" as "User Blogs" - I keep getting this mixed up with the Blogger section (Gawd, Jake, Patrick Arnold, Ken, etc.)

2. Create a navigation bar that is consistently shown on every page of the site, including the forum, with the same links, etc. There is something like that now, but it is inconsistent (see #1 above). I personally think having it on the side would be better, but that may just be personal preference.

3. Create a live, floating ticker that shows people the most recent updates for everything - products recently added, blog posts recently put up, new articles, etc.

For those like me, still struggling with reading the text on the new M+M forum design, I set up a local stylesheet that will override the default M+M forum design, and place dark text on a white background, with an easy-to-read layout.


A local stylesheet is a text file on your computer containing stylesheet code that allows your browser to override the stylesheet (the design) of a website.


This local stylesheet I created, that provides an easy-to-read layout for M+M, is intended to work with the M+M Mobile style. So switch this Mobile style before you use my local stylesheet. Use the pop-up menu at the bottom left of any M+M forum page to set to M+M Mobile.


My local stylesheet will not affect your viewing of the normal M+M Dark style, so at any time, if you switch back to M+M Dark style (by clicking "Default Style" at the bottom of the M+M page once in M+M Mobile style), you will get back to normal. You can easily switch between the M+M Dark style and my easy-to-read layout as and when you like.


To get this easy-to-read layout working, just create your own version of my local stylesheet on your computer, by copying the stylesheet code below into a plain text file on your computer, and making sure your browser loads this local stylesheet text file.


(For Safari browsers, you load a local stylesheet text file via the advanced tab in the preferences).


(Note that this local stylesheet might occasionally affect the viewing of other websites; if this happens, just unload the local stylesheet from your browser to cancel its effects.)

What happened to the lighter theme? It was available for a few days, but has now disappeared again.

The new lighter theme was excellent: such an improvement on the current dark theme, which many people find harder to read.


I find I am reading and posting on M&M less and less, due to the dark theme.

The dark theme makes it an effort rather than a pleasure to read threads on M&M.

So I find I come to this website less. This may apply to tother people too.
