Default Study: eating carbs only at night produces greater weight loss and hormonal changes

Greater Weight Loss and Hormonal Changes After 6 M... [Obesity (Silver Spring). 2011] - PubMed result

    Some interesting findings.
Greater weight loss, abdominal circumference, and body fat mass reductions were observed in the experimental diet in comparison to controls... A simple dietary manipulation of carbohydrate distribution appears to have additional benefits when compared to a conventional weight loss diet in individuals suffering from obesity.

I've been eating like this for a while, but my diet has been so off it's hard to call it a "test".

I fast through noon, eat all protein, fat, and limited carbs in a salad through 3PM. Have some protein and fat before dinner, and a dinner t hat normally has some bread, pasta, or potatoes in it. Then I have dessert.

I haven't gained any weight this way, but I don't know if it's a testament to this style of eating because I have been so uncontrolled in the evenings. I am probably about -10 lbs since January when I wimped out and began eating carbs again.

Last contest diet, I did my re-feeds before bed every 3 days. Maybe something to do with the thyroid?

it just goes to show 2 things - how complicated our bodily process interactions really are, and how many people spout horsecrap repeatedly (taper off your carbs, don't have any after 6 or you'll get fat!) even though there is no scientific rationale

Yeh remember don't skip breakfast or it will slow down your metabolism, oh wait Metabolic rate is increased during short-term fasting as measured in 11 healthy, lean subjects on days 1, 2, 3, and 4 of an 84-h starvation period.

No need to test it Bro...it is a well known fact that any CHO eaten after sunset will immediately turn to fat and deposit itself on your obliques.

I tried the Leangains diet, which was pretty much the same as this, overall weight loss was a lot, but I did notice I lost more muscle and strength then if I would have went on a low carb/low cal diet.

I am trying this now. The owner at my gym kind of suggested it. Basically I brought it up because I wanted to learn more about it lol. A bodybuilder at my gym used it with great success. Obviously he is doing a lot of things right and not many things wrong though. Said the weight was just falling off basically. If you ask me he is still plenty strong. I am giving it a go but I am on cycle so losing weight might be harder. So far it has been easier to do than Lean Gains. I think mentally Lean Gains is harder to wrap your head around after being told "blah blah blah" for years.

Out of interest. Of the people who have tried the IF fast overnight and day and eat at night, leangains type approach... who has liked it and had good results, wants to do it again.

I did it once.. thought it was ok, didn't track much, but tended to end the trial.

On my second go I am having trouble/lethargy in the 3 or so hours prior to my eating window. After I eat I am good, but I really am not appreciating those pre break-fast hours.

I eat this way. When I can control my food intake it works very well for me.

that seems to come and go for me. some days its bad, others not. I just appreciate being able to have bigger meals, and don't mind not eating earlier.
