While I'm watching the Indians head for the play-offs(fingers crossed) and the Browns start on the road for the 1st or 2nd draft pick , my thoughts are turning towards college football. Can't wait for Ohio State/Texas either the first or second game of the season. Who are you guys following? I know Par can't wait for Nebraska to start

USC is going to be damn hard to beat... they have a lot of people coming back and when you have a system that works + great talent + players with great talent that KNOW the system... it's usually pretty deadly.

Layne, where's your school spirit? The Fighting Illini have a chance to win multiple big ten games this year. Jeez, it's like they don't even have a real football program. They, along with Northwestern and Indiana, are certainly second tier Big Ten. But, I love my alma mater, and you can't go rooting for USC, or anybody else for that matter. ILL----INI. ILL----INI.

Naturally, 'SC is gonna dominate, bitches! I'm not near school any more, but I'm still going to at least 3 games this year.

It's our (BC's) inaugural ACC season.

The largely unwarranted hype for Sept. 17th vs. FSU is out of control. Plus my alum friend from Ft. Lauderdale is gonna come up for some quality throwing down, which just makes it all oh-so-much better.

I do agree that in the grand scheme of things, USC might as well be considered an NFL pre-draft combine scrimmage-team. Their talent, depth, and coaching are quite formidable, regardless of that "but past precedent tells us..."-crock that every analyst seems to take for gospel.

SC lost 5 assistant coaches, including the genius Norm Chow.

They also lost half of their defense. They will drop a game or two.

But, they certainly have some horses on offense.

Yeah I was going to mention Chow leaving to.

Im really interested in seeing how the SEC plays out, Ive always been a Spurrier fan at heart (dodges tomatoes) so Im excited to see him back in the college ranks with SC. Also looking forward to see how Urban Myer does at Florida.

I think Zook will do well at the ILL once he implements his system and gets a few recruiting classes to develop. I used to watch their penciled in starting qb when he was in high school at Riverside-Brookfield. Tim Brasic I believe his name is.... All he played was a run and shoot type of offense. It was amazing. Kid broke all kinds of passing records and I believe 3 of his receivers were all-state or 2nd teamers because of him. A lot of fun to watch so I hope he does well.

All I hope is that there isnt a big bcs controversy at the end of the season like there always is. I have my fingers crossed that we get another Rose Bowl like the one we did last year. That was one of the greatest games Ive ever seen! And speaking of, Texas should do well since their qb is returning yes?

Also interested in seeing how Marcus Vick does at Va Tech.... I guess Im just interested in having football back hahaha

I'm a VT alum, and I hope M.Vick Ver.2 blows. It ticked me off that he took the spotlight away from Randall.

I wanna see Michigan competing for the National Championship after winning another Big 10 title.

Week 1 notable is FSU vs Miami - Team that establishes running game first wins....I'm picking Miami to cover the spread due to FSU secondary lookin shaky at best.
